I can't believe you haven't seen...WITHNAIL & I

Strange Brew presents

I can’t believe you haven’t seen….

Wednesday 20th February. Pálás Cinema. Galway.

"We've gone on holiday by mistake."

Loosely based on the life of the director, Bruce Robinson, Withnail & I is one of the funniest - and most melancholic - movies ever made. Featuring career defining performances from Richard E. Grant and Paul McCann as the titular Withnail & I, two out of work actors seeking respite from a bleak Camden (“murder and All-Bran and rape”) at the end of the 1960s, who take refuge in the Lake District, a relaxing retreat which they are ill-equipped to deal with.

Throw in the predatory Uncle Monty, the local poacher and Danny, the drug dealer who doesn’t advise haircuts (All hairdressers are in the employment of the government. Hair are your aerials. They pick up signals from the cosmos and transmit them directly into the brain. This is the reason bald-headed men are uptight.) and you have a bona fide classic.

"We want the finest wines available to humanity, we want them here and we want them now!”
